The community is invited to “Introduction to the Quran for Christians”, hosted at Christ the King Retreat House every Wednesday throughout the month of October. The 4 part series, led by facilitator Br. Mohamed Khater is open to people of all faiths traditions.
The series will cover the foundations of Islam and characteristics and main themes of the Quran. The series will also tackle the misconceptions about Islam and Islamophobia.
Born in Egypt Mohamed Khater, came to Syracuse University as a graduate student in 1982. Since completing his studies, Khater has lived in both Syracuse and New York City working as a software consultant for financial institutions.
Mohamed Khater currently serves as the board president of the Islamic Society of CNY and the Rahma Health Clinic. He is also a member of the InterFaith Works Round Table of Faith Leaders
, whose charge is to, “build cross-faith bridges of understanding, to explore the true meaning of interfaith, and to promote the programs and activities of InterFaith Works.”
