Safiyah Abdul Khaaliq | “Essential Living for Muslim Women”
Biography: Safiyah Abdul Khaaliq, wife of Imam Nashid AbdulKhaaliq, mother of five, grandmother of 6, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Essential Living for Muslim Women Inc., and Essential Living for Muslim Women Breast Health Initiative. (EL4MW).
Safiyah embraced Islam in 1978 and began her pursuit of religious authenticities. Safiyah studied Classical/Modern Standard Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Al-Azhar and the Fajr Institute in Cairo, Egypt. She sustains her studies with the Bayyinah Institute of Irving Texas. Since 1997 and with the permission of Allah, Most Gracious, she teaches classical/modern Standard Arabic, Islamic Studies, Quranic Reading and Analysis in an organized, relaxed environment at Masjid AnNur’s weekend Islamic School, W.D. Mohammed High School, various Masajid, Islamic Home Schools, private homes and Islamic Centers in the metro Atlanta area. Safiyah is dedicated to the study of the Holy Qur’an and the lives/characters of Allah, Most Gracious’ Prophets.
Essential Living for Muslim Women Inc., established 1997, educates believing women without regard to language, ethnicity, natural origin, race, culture, tradition and/or shade of opinion. Safiyah states, “We are striving to enhance our opportunities to evaluate our self-consciousness, our spiritual strengths, our character and our responsibilities, and above all else, to embrace the Qur’anic identity and dignity of the Muslim Woman via thought provoking workshops and seminars”. As CEO for the Essential Living for Muslim Women Breast Health and Mammography Initiative, Safiyah promotes the importance of self health and proactive steps to a healthy lifestyle, by training Community Health Workers of diverse ethnicities, who train their communities in languages and cultural nuances characteristic of their unique customs. EL4MW Breast/Mammography Initiative has served over 8000+ women since its inception in 2006. On behalf of EL4MW Breast/Mammography Initiative, Safiyah has given numerous cultural competency presentations at several national and local conferences to healthcare providers, regarding the distinctive care essential for our diverse Muslim community.
Zakiyyah Muhammad | Janazah & Grieving
Biography: Zakiyah A. Muhammad is the wife of Abdul-Ali Bashir, a mother of six children and a grandmother of sixteen grandchildren. She is originally for Queens Village, NY and has resided in the suburbs of Atlanta since June 1997. She graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service August of 2011, with a Associate Degree in Mortuary Sciences and is a Nationally Licensed Mortician through the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Board. She received her Certification in Grief Counseling in February of 2016. Mrs. Muhammad currently holds the position of Funeral Director in Full and Continuous Charge at Willie Watkins Funeral Home in Riverdale, Georgia.
Desiree Odom | Mind Body Soul Wellness
Biography: Desiree Odom is the CEO and Founder of Holistic Desires Mind Body Spirit Wellness. She is a health and wellness coach, teaches yoga, reiki and how to eat for optimal health.
Desiree will share with conference attendees self healing tools for stress reduction and relaxation which eliminate disease in the body mind spirit.

Biography: As an L.M.T, Precious Walker strives to work in a stress free environment to provide the highest quality to her clients. Her goal is to tailor the client’s experience based on initial interview information, as well as feedback during the treatments, to ensure the client’s comfort and satisfaction.
