About We Rise Above the Streets Outreach, Inc.
Established in 2014 by Alamin Abdullah Muhammad, We Rise Above the Streets Recovery Outreach, Inc. was the realization of a dream to give back to the community from which he took in his early adulthood. His focused intent was to make sure the homeless, poor and under-represented in the community experienced genuine care. The mission of the organization is to offer a better way of life, encourage people to change their present condition and offer the resources to actualize a new beginning.

Alamin, having lived on the streets for a period of time in his life, knows the struggles intimately. “I know the life of gangs, & homelessness and I can speak to it directly. I also know the issues that cause gangs and homelessness can be addressed so that lives can be changed. I know because it happened to me.”

During the five years he was homeless, Alamin  dedicated his life to  his faith, held fast to the vow he made to stay sober, lead a crime free life and completed his Associates Degree in Drug Counseling and  ultimately founded a nonprofit organization, to help people. He now serves the community by teaching life skills to those who struggle with addiction, feeding the poor, and being an example for those who have issues with making positive life choices.
