PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT

ISCNY is proud to announce that Y.A.C. President Shonnan Usman is a recipient of the 2015 President’s Volunteer Service Award from the White House.  The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. The award is earned by completion of 100 or more hours of community service at a qualifying institution.

When asked about being a recipient of this prestigious award Shonnan stated, “I am honored to have been chosen as a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) said “the best of you is the one that serves others.” As a student who is active in the community, I find that giving back to others is one of the most enriching ways to complement your education.”
